Canada has expanded its Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) program to include children and teenagers. A Special Joint Committee on Medical Assistance in Dying submitted a report to the House of Commons in February 2023 that recommended the government begin extending MAID services to “mature minors” WITHOUT parental authorization.
