Just in - We all knew it was going to happen. The Chinese are making a play for newly aquired First Nations resources....and they're not even hiding it.
Beijing is OPENLY courting First Nations finance in B.C. while Ottawa and Victoria keep expanding Indigenous title, veto power, and “consent” over land.
The Chinese Embassy hosted an economic roundtable in Vancouver on Sept. 3. Nearly 60 Chinese and Canadian business and institutional reps were there. So was Ernie Daniels, CEO of the First Nations Finance Authority (FNFA). Former finance minister Bill Morneau showed up too, along with Senator Yuen Pau Woo and former senator Victor Oh.
Ambassador Wang Di called for "Chinese and Canadian business communities, financial institutions and First Nations communities continue to strengthen communication and collaboration"0 Comments 0 Shares 13 Views 0 Reviews -
