On Monday, June 22, 2026 25-year-old Seth Scott Hatfield from Lethbridge, Alberta, opened fire with an SKS semi-automatic rifle near the Aylo headquarters, parent company of Pornhub. He killed Montreal police Constable Mohamed Lamine Benredouane, 34, and 68-year-old civilian Michel (Michael) Mizrahi (see note below) before being shot dead by police. A second officer was critically injured in the chaotic exchange. Media outlets stress the proximity to the pornography giant as potentially significant given the shooter’s documented grievances.
