• In another case of modern versus older definitions, my household suddenly finds itself questioning historical writings whenever they mention a herb being poisonous. This is due to a little historical digging my daughter was doing around buckbrush/snowball/wild snowball. Going into several old books that she has on her phone, she found an entry where someone had supposedly suffered the worst case of poisoning they'd seen from a herb, even beating out rhus poisoning. This was from a book written in the early 1900's.

However, the word poison had been used to describe not just Rhus or sumac, but also rhubarb leaf AND the reaction this person had to buckbrush. . . . these conflicts of understanding and behaviour seem to centre around the person being able to ingest as much as they want without side effects of any kind. This isn't true of domestically sold foods, so why would it be true of garden or wild-grown foods?

To call a bad allergic reaction a poisoning, that puts a very erroneous spin on things that has coloured our modern understandings of some plants, because we assumed that the word "poison" meant in the past what it means today.

In our house, we like to learn from history, spitting out the bones whenever necessary. It appears we've found a potentially problematic bone, and will be paying closer attention as to whether the ancients described poisoning or allergy/sensitivity instead. This kind of erroneous labelling may be what happened to the rhubarb leaf.

  • ITS ALL a Show, Canada’s decline is systemic. The policies in Ottawa are driving investment out of the country. While they boast about “beating inflation,” the cost is economic stagnation and rising unemployment. We are watching the same cycle unfold in Canada that we’ve seen throughout Europe: governments destroying their own economies under the illusion that they can centrally plan prosperity.

  • Best March Madness Cinderella stories of all time

March Madness is full of surprises. Every year, lower-seeded teams pull off upsets and shock the basketball world. These teams, called "Cinderellas," go on unexpected runs, beating big schools and making history.
The NCAA Tournament is perfect for underdogs. It is single-elimination, meaning one bad game can end a top team's season. Cinderella teams take advantage of this. They play without pressure, gain confidence, and become fan favorites along the way.
In this article, BangTheBook looks at some of the best Cinderella stories in March Madness history. These teams proved that anything is possible when the tournament begins.

Germany: Syrian won't be deported despite smashing windows of 245 cars, beating an elderly woman, and possessing illegal weapons
A Syrian migrant has an incredible arrest record, including smashing the windows of 245 cars, beating and injuring an 84-year-old woman, and possessing illegal weapons, but the courts have decided to let him stay in the country. The man, Firas A., is a chronic repeat offender in theory, but in practice, this designation has also […]

  • The Mainstream Media has died from a terminal case of TDS combined with an aggressive infection of the woke-mind virus. The MSM, as it was nicknamed by its critics, was first diagnosed with TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) in 2016 when it couldn’t accept that Donald Trump won the presidency, beating the projected winner and war criminal Hillary Clinton. Critics of the MSM say that the slow painful death was both ‘deserving’ and ‘a long time coming.’ Starting in the 1920s with broadcast radio, the MSM grew into a respected and trusted source of news and information during the Golden Age of television in the 1950s, thanks to luminaries such as broadcast journalists Edward R. Murrow, Walter Cronkite, and Fred Friendly. Remembered fondly for giving a voice to the voiceless and holding truth to power it later devolved into The View’s Joy Behar lecturing her viewers about vaccines and dragons.

  • The Canadian economy is falling further behind population growth, even as the population slows. Real GDP grew 0.2% in July beating expectations but failing to match population growth. National Bank of Canada warns per-capita GDP has seen a cumulative decline of 3.9% since 2022. That makes this the sharpest non-recession erosion of economic output.

  • Why would Amazon ban one of the top doctors in the nation from selling his books on Amazon? Why, because he tells you about using repurposed drugs as one option for beating cancer and that digs hard into the bottom line of big pharma and corporate medicine. Your health is nothing but an entry in a financial spreadsheet of corporate America today. They couldn't care less what their 'care' does to you or if you survive it . . .

    Amazon Excommunicates Dr. Paul Marik

The banning of "Cancer Care" is an extremely dark moment in the history of censorship.

A few days ago I received the word that Amazon had banned Dr. Paul Marik’s book "Cancer Care: The Role of Repurposed Drugs and Metabolic Interventions in Treating Cancer."

    In Amazon’s words:

    Hello,

We are terminating your account effective immediately because we found that you have published titles with misleading content that have the potential to mislead or defraud our customers.

You can see the violations reflected in the following title(s):

58840430 / Cancer Care: The Role of Repurposed Drugs and Metabolic Interventions in Treating Cancer, PRI-4BJKMH3ENCP / Cancer Care: The Role of Repurposed Drugs and Metabolic Interventions in Treating Cancer

As part of the termination process:
    • We will close your account
    • You're no longer eligible to receive any outstanding royalties
    • You'll no longer have access to your accounts. This includes, editing your titles, viewing your reports and accessing any other information within your account
    • All of your published titles will be removed from sale on Amazon

How wonderful. Better to let people die than to give them important information on cures that ARE available.

SIDENOTE: Dr. Paul Marik was a hero during Covid until big pharma got corporate medicine to ban him from his practice of saving patients (his track record for saving those already hospitalized with covid was remarkable and pharma wouldn't have any of that)
