History of shri Khodiyar Mandir Trust
Aai Shri Khodiyar Mata is venerated as the Sahayak Devi, the guiding goddess of the Gohil Rajputs with countless folktales and oral traditions passed down through generations.

The roots of this sacred connection trace back to the 13th century, when Maharaja Ranji Gohil assumed rule over the village of Vana. At that time, Shri Khodiyar Mata was already revered as a Lokdevi—a goddess of the people. The deep devotion of the Gohil rulers toward Mataji laid the foundation for what would become a lasting spiritual and cultural heritage.

One such devoted ruler was Maharaja Wakhatsinhji, who established a humble shrine for Shri Khodiyar Mata in Rajpara. Though modest in form, the shrine attracted faithful pilgrims and remained a place of reverence for many years.

It was Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji, deeply committed to Mataji, who envisioned a grander sanctuary. He transformed the simple shrine into the magnificent temple we see today. His efforts extended beyond the temple walls—he commissioned the construction of a proper road and drinking water facilities to ensure pilgrims had safe and dignified access. He also facilitated the building of a dedicated Khodiyar Mandir railway station.

Demonstrating both foresight and compassion, Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji established a hospital along the path from the station to the temple and constructed alake to provide water for the wildlife of the Bhal region. Advanced water-pumping systems were installed, many of which continue to function even today.

To ensure the temple’s continued growth and spiritual service, Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji founded the Shri Khodiyar Mandir Trust in 1953. The temple’s administration operates through its main office at Nilambag Palace and an onsite branch at the temple, supported by numerous volunteers.

With Maharaja’s values of devotion, service, and community upliftment, the Trust has remained steadfast in its mission, preserving tradition while continually enhancing the temple’s facilities for the benefit of future generations

12:57 pm: That little science experiment you got cooking is about to reach it's boiling point. Your stomach is angry now. It hates you...you can feel it. You have exactly .3 seconds to make it to the nearest toilet but you can't run... NEVER run! You pray to god there is enough elasticity in your butthole to keep the gates closed 5 more steps as you start to preemptively undo your pants to save valuable time. Almost there. 3...2...1...

12:58 pm: Sweet Mary, mother of God...is this real life? Your cheeks barely hit the seat and all hell breaks loose. The crap/ water mixture you've just created comes out with such force that it actually sprays the back of the toilet bowl at a 45 degree angle thus deflecting it in every direction but down.

Is that blood?

False alarm.

That's just the remnants of a cherry pie you ate at Thanksgiving...when you were 5. The smell is horrid...the sound is frightening. You try to clench what's left of your butthole to soften the blow but it's not working. The whole house just heard your liquid fart as it gurgled out of your butt.

1:06 pm- 8:30 pm: Everything's a blur. You have crapped out everything you have ever eaten since the day you were born, everything your ancestors have ever eaten since the early 1800's, and your butt now feels like you have a flaming hot Cheeto and the tears of a thousand Jalapeno seeds stuck in it.

You're now curled up in the bathtub crying because you have to remain within arm's reach of the toilet at all times. You have the poop sweats.

You meet Jesus.

8:37 pm: You're broken.
Your butthole is broken.
Your spirit's broken.

Life as you know it will never be the same. But...tomorrow's a new day. You're going to wake up, throw on the only remaining pair of underwear you have and you're going to run up to Walmart with the last shred of dignity you have left...and buy yourself a new toilet brush. You've earned it.

The higher the vaccination rate, the bigger the bonus.

​“None of the vaccines given to children in the first six months of life have ever been studied for autism.” He went further, revealing that the CDC actually did find a link when they studied the DTaP vaccine.​ But they dismissed it. Kennedy said they claimed it “didn’t count” because the data came from VAERS -- the very system they use to track vaccine injuries.

​So when the evidence pointed to harm, they simply claimed their own system wasn’t reliable enough and took no steps to fix it.

Kennedy attested that the CDC killed off a vaccine injury reporting system that actually worked -- because it worked too well. It showed that 1 in 37 vaccines caused an injury.

THAT was a weekend! We were at Creative Chaos in Vernon over the weekend, a three-day massive craft fair bringing vendors from across Canada! We were able to reconnect with a herbalist who got us started on our wildcrafted herbal journey 10 years ago on Canada Day. That had to be the biggest highlight of the entire weekend, being able to say hi, then later thank him for sharing the tidbit of advice that sent us down this engaging, fun, lifetime of learning!

We debuted a new product to the Ashtree Wildcrafting line: Sample Collections! We are occasionally asked if Ashtree Wildcrafting sells cups. We went thrift store crawling and found some beautiful English china!

This past weekend was the last opportunity to register for the Thistle Workshop happening at the end of June. We have two registrants and looking forward to making a wild thistle version of artichoke dip, and making breaded thistle spears to eat it with! The next workshop coming up is July's Purslane Advanced Foraging Workshop on July 26th. We will learn about the benefits and uses of Purslane while gathering and then making a couple different dipping sauces. The deadline to register for the Purslane workshop has moved to July 12th!
