Yolande Norris-Clark on Instagram: "*BLISS* for the workshop ⬇️ It is not so much the act of birth itself that is being disciplined, constrained, corralled, and, in many cases, criminalized. Rather, it’s our natural right to experience the fullness of our God-given biology and reproductive autonomy that is being contorted and eroded ironically, by the very institutions, entities, and useful idiots that constantly give lip service to “informed consent,” while vilifying autonomous birth and unregulated birth attendants). The ultimate effect (and objective), of course, is that our very humannness and ensoulment is being suppressed and contorted for the purpose of eventual extinction. eradication. When we, as a society, imply through unjust laws that women lack the intellectual capacity to make decisions for themselves—decisions as personal and profound as determining who will support them during childbirth, whether that be a licensed professional, a regulated attendant, or someone with no formal credentials whatsoever—we are, in effect, declaring that women are incapable of self-governance. We are asserting that women are too inept to take responsibility for their own lives and bodies. And we are directly and indirectly enacting medical tyranny. I categorically reject this notion. As a mother who, at the age of 19, made the deeply informed and deliberate decision to hire an unlicensed, uncredentialed, and, by the standards of the medical-industrial complex, untrained birth witness to support me during my first two births, I can attest to the profound significance of that choice. It remains, to this day, one of the most formative, positive, and powerful decisions of my life, and represents a cornerstone of my unwavering advocacy for reproductive choice. I refuse to acquiesce to the insidious, culturally ingrained belief that women are too naïve, too ignorant, or too incapable to determine what is best for themselves and their children. ** more in the comments**⬇️ *Read the entire piece on Substack, along with my upcoming pregnancy update—write “MAGAZINE” ⬇️ for the link."
