The only thing I would add to this is get comms (COMMUNICATIONS). 2 way Ham would be best, but at the very least get a good shortwave radio so you can tune into worldwide information -- you'll have no way to know what is happening if you do not because you think the news is skewed now? You ain't seen nothin' yet.
